Join us this Sunday for Worship followed by the PIcnic in the Park!  Festivities begin at 10AM with worship.  Please bring a side dish or dessert to pass and your own picnicware (help us care for creation!).  There will be some picnic tables for sitting at, but chairs and blankets are also good to put on the packing list!

Oh, how quickly a year passes!  Join us this Sunday as we say farewell to Vicar Matt Kruse.  After his time with us, Matt will return to finish his seminary course work at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio.

There will be some fun surprises in store, you don’t want to miss it!

When Lake Park Lutheran was founded in 1911, its mission was “to serve
the bustling neighborhood between the beauty of Lake Michigan and the
activity of the Milwaukee River.”  As our congregation has grown so
has our ability to serve.

In 2011, Lake Park Lutheran Church will celebrate its 100th
anniversary.  This presents an amazing opportunity to honor our past,
celebrate our time together and, perhaps most importantly, set our
path for the future.

An important part of that future is a renewed commitment to service.
To do this right, we need your assistance.  Please contact the church office if you haven’t had a chance to participate in the survey yet.

The next step in this process is the church-wide forum on May
16th from 6-7:30pm.  We hope you can join us.

Lake Park Young Adults~

Come on Saturday for a Game Night at Vicar Matt’s Apartment, 2649 N. Hackett Avenue, Apt. 6.

We’ll begin at 6:30 p.m., and play into the night! Bring an appetizer (Prizes for the best one) and a favorite board or group game. We’ll enjoy a great time. Both alcoholic and NA beverages available! Hope to see you there!!

Join us, Sunday May 2nd from 6-8PM for our third and final conversation.

We’ll discuss several theologians and their response to the technological advances. We’ll also look at our own care for creation movement and social justice activities and see how they are changed, helped, or hurt by our new pattern of life.

Join us this Sunday for Earth Day Worship. We will care for creation and go paperless in our worship at 8AM and 10AM!  We’ll have beautiful slides of creation from members of the congregation during worship!

After worship learn about the many ways we work together to care for creation.  Check out the solar panels on the roof, the rain garden outside and learn how you can be more involved in our Care for Creation team’s work throughout the year!

Our solar panels were up and running this fall, but the tracking system took a while to get set.  Now, we can see how much energy we are producing on our roof top!  Check out this site!

CELEBRATE!
Join us for an Advent Extravaganza

Each year the staff of Lake Park host an all-church party! Come to Pastor David’s the open house from 5 - 8pm.  We’ll celebrate Advent together with great conversation, a stunning array of treats and of course glorious glog.

Bring an item for the All People’s Warm and Wonderful Christmas - Our partner church will be giving away coats, hats, snowsuits, etc. to kids and teens in their church community on Saturday December 12th. If you haven’t had a chance to drop something off at church, bring it to the party and we’ll take it over on Saturday.

After a slight delay due, the new organ pipes have arrived!  Check out the installation progress, Sunday, November 22nd after the 10AM service in the balcony.  Members from the Organ Committee will be on hand to answer questions and explain the work being done!  The organ addition is possible because one anonymous member has given almost 90% of the addition cost over more than 20 years!  That is amazing stewardship!
