The members of the Church Council are elected by the congregation, and have primary responsibility, with church staff, for establishing goals and schedules, leading long range planning initiatives, and evaluating church activities based on Lake Park’s mission and priorities. The Council oversees the administration of the congregation to ensure that Lake Park fulfills its goals and performs its mission. The Council is responsible for financial and property matters for the congregation; they prepare the annual budget for congregational approval, and supervise expenditures throughout the year. They work with other congregational leaders and committees to involve all members of the congregation in worship, education, service and support. Finally, they provide a link to the synod, the larger ELCA organization and other congregations in the Greater Milwaukee area.
