Lake Pake is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA is a diverse group encompassing over 10,000 congregation who vary widely in size and tone and have nearly 5 million members.
Lake Park has traditionally involvement roles locally, regionally, and nationally in the ELCA.
Disasters are tragic events that disrupt the normal routine of life, causing loss and human suffering. During a disaster such as an earthquake, major flood, tornado, civil war, or famine, the overwhelming concern is for the safety and preservation of life. After a disaster, the relief process begins.
When a major disaster strikes, local needs often outstrip the available local resources. In such catastrophes the whole church marshals its resources and reaches out to help.

The Wisconsin Alliance for Excellent Schools (WAES) is a diverse, statewide coalition working for comprehensive school-funding reform.
Its work is based on the Adequacy model—reform that connects revenue to the needs of children, no matter where they live, and the opportunity to reach academic success.
WAES, which now includes many individuals and over 70 organizations as partners, is waging the battle for reform on many fronts, including lobbying, community organizing, and educational outreach.
