Elder Special Friends
This ministry team reaches out to the homebound members of the congregation through pairing them with others in the congregation and celebrating the elders of the congregation with a special Sunday each spring. Contact Pastor David to volunteer.
Hospitality
Do you serve great hors d’oeuvres at your parties? Join fellowship and help plan our coffee hour, the famous church potlucks, or congregational events. Usually serve after the 10:00am service. Contact Teri Smid (hospitality) or Lorraine Waymanor (fellowship) one of the Pastors to volunteer.
MICAH
Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope. Join Lake Park’s core team. MICAH is a faith-based community organization that works for justice in our community. Recent MICAH initiatives include the Sage program (15 to 1) student teacher ratio in many Milwaukee Public Schools and a community safety initiative on the East Side. Contact Pastor David to volunteer.
Three annual events are important for widespread congregational involvement:
- November’s Public meeting
- January’s Prayer Breakfast
- June’s Banquet
Meets once a month and occasionally for joint meetings with Plymouth Church.
Outreach Team
Do you want to share God’s story? Do you want to turn your marketing skills into ministry? Can you help with the web site? Join the outreach team as we explore fun and interesting ways to reach out to our community (like the Block Party). Go door knocking with Pastor David or serve at Downer Days and in the neighborhood schools. The Outreach Team meets on an as needed basis. Contact Pastor David or Erin Ulicki to volunteer.
Peace and Justice
Contact Ruth Mode, Chairperson or Pastor David to volunteer. Help carry out God’s command to serve the needy and proclaim justice. Our peace and justice team not only plans congregational discussions and worship themes it also arranges service outings, mission appeals, and help for our local community. Meetings are held quarterly.
Property
Do you have a knack for fixing or coordinating? Join the property team and help keep up our beautiful building. Join the property team and help beautify our space. Contact Corey Wanek to get involved.
Stewardship Team
Giving of our time, talents, and resources is a daily exercise as Christians. As a church, giving is lifted up frequently through study and preaching. The stewardship emphasis happens annually in November. Planning begins in the spring, and a team is put together to facilitate the emphasis early in the fall. We invite those who enjoy planning, doing mailings, and temple talks to participate in this team effort. Contact Pastor David to volunteer.
